Subject: Group Purchasing Arrangements

Eric - You asked for comments on corsortia purchasing of certain databases. Here is mine:

I'd really like to see a substantial group discount for MLA institutional members who subscribe to Web of Science, Science Direct or Micromedex Knowledge Bases, just to name a few. Besides making these databases more affordable, especially to hospital libraries, MLA would be offering a real incentive for keeping our institutional memberships.

[Editors question: What do you think of this Idea? Have any efforts been made to date on using MLA as a large consortia? I am aware of the Doody MLA discount, and I believe MD consult is working with Chapters, any others?]
