Dear colleagues,

The 27th annual Charleston Conference: Issues in
Book and Serial Acquisition will take place
November 7 – 10 in, as usual, lovely Charleston, SC.
The conference now draws about 1000 attendees
annually, from the library, publishing, and
library service vendor industry sectors.

The theme of the 2007 conference is "What Tangled
Webs We Weave". If you are interested in leading
a discussion, acting as a moderator, coordinating
a lively lunch, or would like to make sure we
discuss a particular topic, please let us know.
Send ideas by July 31, 2007, by completing our
<http://www.katina.info/conference/callforpapers.php>online
form or contacting any of the
<http://www.katina.info/conference/contact.php>Conference Directors.

For more information about the conference
(including preconferences), already approved
selections of topics & sessions, travelling
scholarship opportunities, hotel information, etc., go to:
http://www.katina.info/conference/

In 2007 we look forward to the annual Lively
Lunch on health sciences collection development
issues, and sessions moderated and presented by
our health sciences colleagues, STM publishers,
as well as colleagues from other sectors...On
November 7th, there are a number of preconferences from which to choose.

The conference is a nice "book end" in November,
opposite the annual MLA conference in
May...Hopefully, a number of CDS colleagues will
have the opportunity to participate and network
at the 2007 annual Charleston Conference.
