[Mla-cds] Sad news- Ellen Geraghty

Dear Friends,

 

I received a call last night that Ellen Geraghty (of Midwestern
University, Chicago) passed away yesterday morning.  She was diagnosed
with a brain tumor two years ago, and was holding her own and even
working until a few months ago.  I was told by a family member that she
took a turn for the worse 6 weeks ago and never recovered.  Ellen was a
lovely, fun, person and I always enjoyed her company, especially at
parties.  

 

I know Ellen worked at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and
briefly in New York with the National Library of Medicine.  I don't have
any funeral details, but I'm told it will be published in the Chicago
Tribune.  Please pass this information on to friends in the Greater
Midwest Region who I did not include on this email. Please also keep
Ellen and her family in your prayers.
