[Mla-cds] AAHSL: More: Conflict of Interest

Hi,

From what I understand, the CDS will be featuring the topic,
conflict of interest/ethics (vendor relations), during a 2008 annual
MLA meeting program tract, perhaps after the annual business meeting?
CDS incoming chair, Melissa Nasea, can tell us all more about it. I
believe the session will feature a panel of 3 people.

RE: "White paper".
Is this the article? Liz Lorbeer sent it in for the Fall 2006 issue
of "Developments". The full text probably cannot be posted it on the
CDS site without Elsevier's permission???

Good Article on Managing Vendor Relations
There is a very good, short, article in the April 2006 issue of
LibraryConnect (Elsevier's librarian newsletter) by Lorraine Busby
titled "Managing Vendor Relations: A Graduate Course Worth Our Time"
on teaching library students how to manage vendor relations. I was
very excited to see this article since I've been asking MLA for many
years to offer a CE class on this very topic! The article can be found at
http://libraryconnect.elsevier.com/lcn/0403/LCN040305.html
