My colleagues and I just wrote a paper on this topic - "Beyond Core
Journal Lists: Identifying the Best Journals for Your Collection." I'll
send you a final draft since the publishing date has been changed again
by T&F. Liz Lorbeer

Subject: [Mla-cds] Core Collection Journals

Hello All,

We are in the process of deciding what to continue to keep in print
of the journals we've identified as core titles. Our core list is based
on a combination of journals included in the Brandon-Hill and AIM
(Abridged Index Medicus) lists, High-Use Research journals, and High
Impact Factor journals. There are 158 titles on our core list. We are
wondering what other libraries are doing with the journals they've
identified as core. Are you:

1. Keeping all in print
2. Keeping selected titles in print
3. Keeping no titles in print

We'd also be interested in knowing the rationale for the decision
you made.

Thanks for your help with this.
