[Mla-cds] Guadalajara Book Fair

Dear MLA - CDS members:

I'm passing this information along regarding the Guadalajara Book Fair, especially to those who purchase Spanish language works.   Though I've never been to the fair, I've only heard positive accolades from librarians who have attended.

Dear ALA librarian,
We are barely in the New Year and already Guadalajara is sending me the ALA FIL application. Yes. This is because FIL will be celebrating its **25th Anniversary** and Germany will be the Guest of Honor--we know that this is an event you will not want to miss...

In a more serious vein, this may be the right time to speak to your supervisor about Guadalajara. You might want to tell him/her that there were 928 publishers from 43 countries that exhibited 375,000 titles in Spanish.
FIL is, indeed, the event for perusing new titles and purchasing those you want for your library through your distributor. And fill out the application so that you will be eligible to receive an extra $100 toward your airfare from FIL...

And if you are in San Diego, look for me in or around the Oceano booth (1728) or the Puvill booth (1428).
