[Mla-cds] Save the date/time: CDS annual business meeting/25th anniversary program at MLA 2011

Hello all,

The "save the date" technique is being used quite extensively these days...

For those who plan on coming to Minneapolis for the 2011 MLA annual 
meeting, please make a note. The Collection Development Section officers 
have decided to schedule the CDS business meeting/25th anniversary event 
for *Sunday, May 15, 6-7:30 pm.* Hopefully, many CDS members, current, 
past, and potential, will be able to attend.

(We'll be a few days early in marking the exact anniversary...Although 
initiatives were begun earlier, 2011 is the 25th anniversary of the 
official "provisional" section designation. Collection Development 
Section was granted provisional status by MLA Board of Directors on May 
24, 1986, http://mlanet.org/archive/history/unit-history/collection.html)

*The tentative plan for May 15, 2011:*
The first half of the time slot will be devoted to taking care of 
essential business of CDS by its members, while the remaining half will 
be devoted to an "anniversary event", featuring light refreshments and a 
special program still under development.

More information will be forthcoming.
